SOLIKO VIRSALADZE - RETROSPECTIVE EXHIBITION

14 JAN / 15:00 Dimitri Shevardnadze National Gallery

On January 14, a retrospective exhibition of the great Georgian scenographer Soliko Virsaladze (1909-1988) will open at the Dimitri Shevardnadze National Gallery.

The exhibition, which will last for a month, will present about 200 works of the artist and archival items from his house-museum, as well as costumes from the LEPLs of the Ministry of Culture - Art Palace - Museum of Cultural History and Georgian National Ballet "Sukhishvilebi".

Soliko Virsaladze created his own page in the scenography of the 20th century. His creative activity begins at the Zakaria Paliashvili State Opera and Ballet Theater in Tbilisi. The role of Soliko Virsaladze in the history of the Georgian National Ensemble named after Iliko Sukhishvili and Nino Ramishvili is the most important, as the "Georgian National Ballet'' is an "invention" of the Sukhishvilis and Soliko Virsaladze.

A professional artist, a profound connoisseur of theatrical art, choreography, music, could create an accurate artistic language to match the musical mood in the scenography. Soliko Virsaladze's theatrical scenography created with refined taste and refined precision is among the best works of world performing art.

It should be noted that the last exhibition of Soliko Virsaladze's works was organized in Georgia 20 years ago.
